Any senior who is planning on attending any type ofpost-secondary school must complete the FreeApplication for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order to qualify for federaland state grants and loans as well as financial aid from the school they willbe attending.  Students should check withthe school they are planning to attend for their deadline.  Applications are online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.   Call Mr. Potoka at 724-547-4100 ext. 1730with any questions.
Southwest Pennsylvania Area Health Education Center (AHEC) will be hosting their 12th Annual Summer Health Career Academy.  Fifty selected students will attend the Summer Health Career Academy held on the University of Pittsburgh's Oakland campus.  Current 9th and 10th grade students who are interested in health careers and who are considered academically inclined by teachers, counselors, or administrators are eligible to attend.  The academy will take place on July 21-25, 2014.  The program fee is $100.  Application and brochure are available at www.southwestahec.org (click on Summer Health Career Academy Information)  Application deadline is April 30, 2014.
 
The Wildlife Leadership Academy is accepting applications for the 2014 Field Schools, a five day residential camp for Pennsylvania students ages 14-17.  Students will be guided by the state's top biologist, professionals, and sportsmen.  Each Field School will introduce you to the biology, habitat, and conservation issues that impact a single species. There will be three field schools this year; Pennsylvania Bucktails Field School (June 17-21, Stone Valley Recreation Area in Huntington County), Pennsylvania Brookies Field School (July 8-12, Sieg Conference Center in Clinton County), and Pennsylvania Drummers Field School (July 22-26, Powdermill Nature Reserve in Westmoreland County).  Tuition for the 5-day camp is $500.  Applications can be found at www.PICEweb.org.  Application deadline is April 1, 2014.
 
Waynesburg University will be holding their 9th Annual CSI Camp on June 22 - 27, 2014.  Students will learn from certified experts in areas such as surveillance techniques, forensic science, canine workshops , etc.  To find out more about CSI Camp go to www.waynesburg.edu/csicamp.
 
Waynesburg University will be holding their 5th Annual Sports Announcing Camp on June 23-26, 2014.  Students will learn and practice the skills necessary to become a successful sportscaster, including plat-by-play, reporting, interviewing, and sports talk.  For more information go to www.waynesburg.edu/sportsannouncingcamp.com.
